Computer Illiteracy

Why do people here in India know very less about the biggest and the most important invention of the 20th century?? Even those who own them and are in buisness relted to them know really little about them..
Most people in India above 30 or 40 years of age think of computers as a toy for children to play. They usually say ki "Bachchon ko computer leke diya hai" kind of things. They are not at all interested in getting used to it. And they usually get cheated while buying things as people who sell make use ok the less knowledge among the masses. The people who sell computes are not willing to switch over to and sell newer items. They will tell u that u wont ever need the new technology, its for high end users but the actual thing is that they dont have it and want to get rid of their old stuffs.
