New IIT's

The govt decided to open 8 new IITs and 7 new IIMs in the current Five Year Plan.
Being an IItian i personally feel that this will spoil the world-wide respected image of the institution.
This year's opening and closing ranks show a drastic change over the last year. And also people who are going to new IITs will be studying in some other colleges untill the infrastructure is made. And by Indian standards it may take 4-5 years. So the 1st or may be 2nd batch will be placed from the respective mentor institutes. And hence they will not get any benefit of being an IITian as all the new IITs are not being mentored by IITs.
This according to me is the survival plan of the UPA govt. They are trying to take all the credit of opening the IITs to themselves. If they really wanted good for the nation they could hav opened an IIT at one per year but no, why should other govt take the credit!!
Future of the new IITs is uncertain as for now. I also think that they may require to b closed. Though chances are very less..
